Dr. Katherina Tarnai-Lokhorst, P.Eng., FEC, FGC (Hon), an award-winning social science researcher and educator of mechanical engineering at Camosun College and the University of British Columbia, is a passionate leader in self-regulation and policy. Katherina’s technical specializations include aircraft design, manufacturing processes and project management. Dedicated to creating an increasingly inclusive culture in engineering, Katherina applies her mastery of interdisciplinary studies by developing policies and delivering courses that instill learners at all levels with a deep understanding of the impact of technology on society and a passion to make the world a better place for all.
We welcome back Dr. Tarnai-Lokhorst who spoke to us at our last face-to-face dinner meeting in March. This time, she will take us on a deeper dive, leveraging the power of Zoom for a more interactive workshop on techniques and tools we can use to ensure equity in our projects.
Feel free to log in 15 minutes early if you need to do a tech check!
When we make space for project stakeholders to fully contribute, we develop buy-in, foster inclusion and elevate deliverables to higher standards. Through engaging audience interaction, Katherina presents evidence-based methods that enhance project delivery, value stakeholder contributions and develop the synergies necessary to create innovative, elegant and effective project outcomes.
